COLONIAL ARCHITECTURE AND THE PHILOSOPHICAL MEANING OF ROOF SHAPES KAB. BOSCHA HOUSE IN PANGALENGAN, WEST JAVA

Abstract


Rumah K.A.R Bosscha yang berada di Pangalengan, Jawa Barat, merupakan contoh yang mencerminkan perpaduan antara desain Eropa, adaptasi terhadap iklim, dana daptasi terhadap lingkungan sekitar. Rumah K.A.R Bosscha ini memiliki nilai histrosis sebagai salah satu bangunan penting pada masa colonial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk megkaji makna filosofis yang terkandung desain Rumah K.A.R Bosscha sebagai reprensentasi budaya dan status sosial penghuninya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa bentuk atap pelana pada Rumah K.A.R Bosscha tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai elemen fungsional, tetapi sebagai symbol yang mencerminkan identitas dan nilai-nilai Masyarakat pada zamannya. Dengan demikian, makna fiosofis bentuk atap Rumah K.A.R Bosscha perlu dipahami sebagai bagian dari warisan arsitektur yang harus dilestarikan. Kata Kunci: Arsitektur kolonial, Bosscha, Bentuk atap, Makna filosofis, Pelestarian arsitektur
