PENERAPAN MODEL CIRC UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA KELAS V SD

Abstract


Abstract: This research is motivated by low reading comprehension ability of students in one of Bandung elementary school. It is marked from the observation in the fifth class seen from most students still have difficulty is understanding the contents of reading text which includes predicting the end of the story, determining the meaning of the word, rewriting the contents of the story with their own language and students have not been able to answer questions in accordance with the contents of the text reading. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of learning with Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model to improve reading comprehension of grade V elementary school students and to describe the improvement of comprehension reading comprehension by applying CIRC model. The method of this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) using Spiral model from Kemmis and Taggart with two cycles and each cycle consists of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The results of the research on the first cycle with the percentage of completeness only 42.86%, continued in the second cycle has increased significantly to 82.14% which can be concluded that the implementation of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method can improve students reading comprehension.
