PENERAPAN STRATEGI PQ4R DALAM MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA KELAS V SD

Abstract
Abstract: This study is based on the low motivation and interest of students on reading and learning activities have not involved students actively perform the activities of the stages of reading and still use the method of assigning tasks to answer questions. This is evidenced by the average value obtained by VD class with the number of understanding as much as 68.3 and completeness of learning reached 37.15%. PQ4R can be used to improve reading comprehension. This research was conducted for VD grade students in one of SDN Cobong districts, Bandung City. The purpose of this research is to describe the planning, implementation, and improvement of understanding by applying PQ4R strategy for VD SD students. The research used the action method of Kemmis and Taggart Classroom with 2 cycles and each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, and reflection. Result of this research is result of result of cycle I equal to 57,14% and increase in cycle II become 88,57%. This study is based on total results (LKS) and final score (evaluation). Based on the research data, it can be concluded that the implementation of PQ4R strategy can improve the reading skill of grade V elementary school students.
