HUBUNGAN PERHATIAN ORANG TUA DALAM KEGIATAN BELAJAR DENGAN PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA SD

Abstract


Abstract: The purpose of the research is to seek the relation between parental attention in student academic activies and student learning achievement. This parental attention in learning activates is the parents’ involvement toward their child’s learning progress in forms of giving parental guidance, giving parental supervision, giving praise and punishment, providing student needs, maintaining a supportive environment for learning, and caring to their health. This research was established at one of Elementary Schools in Bandung. This research used product moment correlation method. The sample of data were taken from 110 fifth grade students. The result shows that the number correlation of parental attention in student academic activity and student learning achievement were 0,349 which is significant at p 0,00 < 0,05. This numbers indicated that there is positive correlation between parental attention in student academic activity and student learning achievement, which the category is at lower stage. From the result, the researcher hopes that there is a cooperation between teacher and parents to paying attention to student learning activity at home and at school.
