PENERAPAN MODEL PBL UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP IPA SISWA KELAS V SD

Abstract


The research is motivated by students lack of understanding of concepts in science learning taught V grade in one of the elementary schools Sukajadi subdistrict, Bandung. The purpose of this study is to provide a description of students  understanding improvement of the concept in science through the Problem Based Learning Model. Students difficulty in understanding the concept is shown by the inability to understand the concept, giving examples, explaining and concluding the subject matter. The research method employed is the one that is proposed by Kemmis and McTaggart namely the Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted in two cycles with 33 students consisting of 17 male students and 16 female students. Students average evaluation test score in understanding concept in cycle I was 64% and increased in cycle II up to 88%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model is effective in improving students understanding of the concepts in science taught for V grader in Elementary Schools.
