PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPA DI KELAS V SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract


This research is motivated by the low understanding of science concepts of fifth grade elementary school students in the city of Bandung. this was referenced by the results of the pre test regarding understanding the concept which showed class V students which numbered 30 people who were declared complete only 20% or 6 students, while the ones that were not completed were 80% or as many as 24 students,. So that researchers apply a scientific approach to learning to improve understanding of concepts in science learning in fifth grade elementary schools. This study aims to describe the improvement of students' understanding of concepts by applying a scientific approach. The research method used in this study is the classroom action research (CAR) method using a model developed by Kemmis and Taggart. The study was conducted in two cycles. After the application of the cycle, the results of understanding the concepts obtained in the implementation of the first cycle reached 77.59% and were in the category of quite understanding, whereas in the second cycle students' understanding of the concepts reached 90.92% and in this category of understanding showed that by applying a scientific approach to learning Science can improve the understanding of concepts in Class V Elementary Schools.
