Efektifitas Model Pembelajaran Brain Based Learning Berbantuan Media Teka-Teki Silang Terhadap Hasil Belajar IPAS Siswa Kelas IV SDN 128 Palembang
Abstract
Assisted by crossword puzzle media on the IPAS
learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN
128 Palembang. The problem encountered was the
low student achievement due to teacher-centered
learning and the lack of innovative media. This
research employed a quantitative method using a true
experimental design in the form of a pretest-posttest
control group. The sample consisted of 68 fourth-
grade students, with Class IVA as the experimental
group and Class IVB as the control group. Data were
collected using short-answer tests in the form of
crossword puzzles and analyzed using SPSS version 22.
The results showed a significant improvement in
learning outcomes in the experimental class compared
to the control class. The average posttest score of the
experimental group was 92.06, higher than the control
group’s 79.92. The N-gain test showed an increase in
the moderate to high category, especially for indicator
C4 with a gain of 0.8275. Based on the hypothesis
testing, the significance value was < 0.025, thus Ha
was accepted. Therefore, the BBL model assisted by
crossword puzzle media is effective in improving IPAS
learning outcomes. Brain-based learning combined
with interactive media can create an engaging
learning atmosphere, encourage student activity, and
optimize cognitive potential.
