Abstract

The fluctuating changes in mangrove area and health pose challenges in temporal observations, especially in the field of geographic information systems. Mangroves are important habitats to support the productivity of capture and aquaculture fisheries which are the main load in the marine logistics system. Therefore, this study applies an automatic algorithm method from a geographic information system for mangrove observations in Bandar Lampung City which aims to conduct temporal observations of changes in the area of the ecosystem in Bandar Lampung City so that the information produced can optimally support the marine logistics sector. The conclusion of this study is that mangrove growth shows different fluctuations even though the two observation areas are very close, which indicates that there are other factors that influence the development pattern of mangrove habitats. This variation has the potential to impact the sustainability of the fisheries logistics supply chain, especially because mangroves play an important role as a habitat for fish farming, protecting coastal areas, and supporting the aquatic ecosystem where fishing and distribution activities take place.
