Ijat dalam Serial Animasi Upin & Ipin: Representasi Kesulitan Membaca dan Berbicara Siswa SD

Abstract


Kesulitan membaca dan berbicara sering kali menjadi tantangan dalam perkembangan anak-anak usia sekolah. Serial animasi Upin & Ipin menghadirkan karakter Ijat yang memperlihatkan ciri-ciri kesulitan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesulitan membaca dan berbicara direpresentasikan dalam karakter Ijat, termasuk tantangan dan hambatan yang ia alami; dampaknya terhadap komunikasi verbalnya dengan karakter lain; mengeksplorasi nilai-nilai edukasi yang dapat diambil dari karakter Ijat untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya mendukung anak-anak dengan kesulitan membaca dan berbicara; serta memberikan rekomendasi bagi pendidik, orang tua, dan pembuat konten media untuk menggunakan representasi tokoh seperti Ijat sebagai sarana edukasi dan inklusi sosial. Studi ini menggunakan metode analisis konten kualitatif dengan fokus pada episode-episode yang menampilkan Ijat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa karakterisasi Ijat tidak hanya menghibur tetapi juga dapat menjadi media edukasi yang membantu anak-anak memahami isu kesulitan membaca dan berbicara di sekitar mereka serta belajar pentingnya menerima dan memberi dukungan terhadap teman yang mengalami kesulitan serupa.
