Pendekatan Ekosistemik dalam Retensi Hafalan Al-Qur'an: Studi Kualitatif pada Madrasah Berasrama

Qur'anic memorization (tahfidz) programs frequently face challenges regarding memory retention and fluctuations in student motivation due to the dominance of mechanistic-individualistic methods that neglect the learning ecosystem. Although the role of educational institutions is widely acknowledged, studies on how social elements within boarding schools synergize to accelerate tahfidz proficiency remain limited. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of an ecosystemic approach and the determinant factors influencing students' memorization progress. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design at MTs Salsabila Tahfidz Boarding School Serang, data were collected through in-depth interviews with female students (santriwati) and teachers (ustadzah), alongside participatory observation. The findings reveal three main pillars of tahfidz success: (1) a structured and supportive boarding environment serves as a catalyst for internal motivation; (2) peer collaboration significantly enhances discipline in muraja'ah (memorization review); and (3) adaptive teacher guidance proves effective in resolving students' psychological challenges. These findings assert that the improvement of tahfidz proficiency does not rely solely on cognitive capacity but demands a paradigm shift toward a communal pedagogical approach that integrates social and structural support.

Abstrak
Program tahfidz Al-Qur'an kerap dihadapkan pada tantangan retensi hafalan dan fluktuasi motivasi peserta didik akibat dominasi metode mekanis-individualistik yang mengabaikan ekosistem pembelajaran. Meskipun peran institusi diakui, kajian mengenai bagaimana elemen sosial di sekolah berasrama saling bersinergi dalam mempercepat kemampuan tahfidz masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi efektivitas pendekatan ekosistemik dan faktor determinan yang memengaruhi progres hafalan peserta didik. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus di MTs Salsabila Tahfidz Boarding School Serang, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap santriwati dan ustadzah, serta diobservasi secara partisipatif. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan tiga pilar utama keberhasilan tahfidz: (1) lingkungan asrama yang terstruktur dan suportif berfungsi sebagai katalisator motivasi internal; (2) kolaborasi teman sebaya (peer collaboration) secara signifikan meningkatkan kedisiplinan muraja'ah (pengulangan hafalan); dan (3) bimbingan guru yang adaptif terbukti efektif mengurai tantangan psikologis peserta didik. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan tahfidz tidak semata bergantung pada kapasitas kognitif, melainkan menuntut pergeseran paradigma menuju pendekatan pedagogi komunal yang mengintegrasikan dukungan sosial dan struktural.
