Lebih dari Sekadar Menghafal: Peran Tahfidzul Qur’an dalam Membentuk Karakter Komunikatif dan Empati Siswa
Abstract
Abstract
The tahfidzul Qur'an (Qur'an memorization) program is often perceived merely as an individual cognitive and spiritual activity, even though the process has a massive potential in shaping students' social characters. This study aims to analyze the role of tahfidzul Qur'an in shaping students' communicative and empathetic characters, represented by their level of social interaction. This research employs a quantitative approach with a survey method. The research sample consisted of 76 eighth-grade students at MTs Salafiyah Bidayatul Hidayah Mojogeneng, selected using a simple random sampling technique from a total population of 311 students. Data collection was conducted using a Likert scale questionnaire instrument that has been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the descriptive analysis indicate that students' involvement in the tahfidz program is in the high category (average score of 75.9), which aligns with their high level of social interaction (average score of 72.5). Hypothesis testing using Spearman's rank correlation analysis reveals a positive, strong, and statistically significant relationship (correlation coefficient = 0.524; sig. = 0.000). Furthermore, the simple linear regression analysis demonstrates that the tahfidzul Qur'an program contributes a 37.1% influence on the quality of students' social interactions. In conclusion, routines in tahfidzul Qur'an such as muroja'ah (reviewing memorization) and reciting to teachers empirically act as catalysts in positively fostering students' empathy, politeness, and communication skills.
