Analisis Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis Siswa SMP Kelas VIII pada Materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variable Ditinjau dari Gaya Belajar

Abstract


This study aims to describe the mathematical connection ability of junior high school students in grade 8th on Linear Equation System of Two Variable material who have visual, auditorial, and kinesthetic learning style tendencies. This research is a qualitative research with a case study design. This research is qualitative research with a case study design. The subjects in this study were grade 8th students involving 6 people in one of the junior high schools in Bandung. Data in this study were obtained through learning style questionnaires, mathematical connection ability tests, interviews, and documentation studies. Interviews were conducted with 2 students from each learning style. The results of the analysis show that subjects with visual learning styles can relate between concepts in mathematics and concepts outside mathematics. On the other hand, subjects with visual learning styles were unable to relate mathematical concepts, both within mathematics itself and with concepts outside mathematics. Subjects with auditorial learning styles are not able to relate between concepts in mathematics and concepts outside mathematics, on the other hand, subjects with auditorial learning styles are able to relate mathematical concepts, both within mathematics itself and with concepts outside mathematics. Subjects with kinesthetic learning styles are able to relate between concepts in mathematics and concepts outside of mathematics, on the other hand subjects with kinesthetic learning styles are not able to relate mathematical concepts to other fields of science. The difference in subjects from each learning style can be caused by various factors.
