Empowerment of Chemistry Teachers in Developing Creative Pedagogy Skills through the Integration of Deep Learning, ESD, and AI in Green Chemistry Learning Using the C-R-E-A-T-E Model [Pemberdayaan Guru Kimia dalam Mengembangkan Kemampuan Creative Pedagogy melalui Integrasi Deep Learning, ESD, dan AI dalam Pembelajaran Green Chemistry Menggunakan Model C-R-E-A-T-E]
Abstract
The transformation of 21st-century education requires teachers to be not only information transmitters, but also creative, reflective, and transformative learning facilitators. This Community Service (PkM) initiative investigates strategies to empower chemistry teachers in developing creative pedagogy by integrating Deep Learning, Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) within Green Chemistry learning, utilizing the C-R-E-A-T-E (Connecting, Restructuring, Elaborating, Applying, Tasking, Evaluating) model. The primary objective is to provide teachers with an innovative, contextual, and sustainable pedagogical framework by utilizing AI technology. The PkM program employed a training approach consisting of seminar and workshop on integrating DL, ESD, and AI into Green Chemistry teaching. This training involved 20 Chemistry MGMP teachers in Bandung City. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated using the Teaching for Creativity Observation Form (TCOF), a model implementation observation sheet, a creative pedagogy ability assessment, and a quality assessment for chemistry teaching modules and their tools. The results indicate that teachers who adopted this model facilitated more meaningful learning experiences, addressed environmental issues, and promoted active student engagement. These outcomes underscore the need for ongoing professional development and interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance the pedagogical capacity of chemistry teachers in the digital era.
