Author Guidelines

ASEAN Journal of Sport for Development and Peace (AJSDP)

1. General Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to AJSDP must be original, authored by the submitting author(s), and free from plagiarism. The manuscript must not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere. By submitting their work, authors agree to adhere to all editorial and peer-review processes established by the journal.

2. Language, Format, and Length

All manuscripts must be written in English using Microsoft Word format (Template manuscript). The manuscript should be typed using Calibri Style font, size 12, with single line spacing. Margins should be set to 2.54 cm (top and bottom) and 1.91 cm (left and right). The manuscript length should range from 3,000 to 5,000 words (approximately 7–10 pages), excluding the references section.

3. Article Structure

The article must include the following sections: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgment (if applicable), and References.

  • The title should be concise (maximum 20 words), written in capitalize each word letters, centered, and using font size 14.

  • Abstract should not exceed 300 words and must clearly describe the research objectives, methods, results, findings, and discussion. It should be followed by 4 to 6 keywords relevant to the study, written using font size 11.

  • The introduction must present the background of the research, highlight the significance of the topic, explain the research gap, and review relevant literature. This section should be written in paragraph form and constitute about 15–20% of the total manuscript length.

  • The methods section should describe the research design, participants or data sources, instruments, procedures, and data analysis. It should comprise approximately 10–15% of the total manuscript length.

  • Results and Discussion should explain the findings of the study, supported by data analysis, and interpret them using current theories and literature. This section should make up about 40–60% of the total manuscript length.

  • The conclusion should summarize the key findings, emphasizing their theoretical or practical implications. Avoid repeating detailed data or results already presented. Optionally, suggestions for future research may be included.

  • Author's Note, The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of this article. Authors confirmed that the paper was free of plagiarism.
  • Acknowledgment may be included to recognize funding bodies or individuals who contributed to the research but do not qualify for authorship.

  • References must include only cited sources and follow APA style 7th Edition. Use at least 70% from a reputable international journal. Use software for references such as Mendeley, Zotero, and EndNote

 

4. Tables and Figures

Use only horizontal lines in tables. Table numbers and titles must be placed above the tables, while figure numbers and captions should be placed below the figures.

5. Authorship and Peer Review

To maintain the integrity of the double-blind peer review process, the author's name (without academic titles), institutional affiliation, and email address must appear only on the removable cover sheet, not in the main manuscript.

AJSDP promotes objective and constructive peer review. All manuscripts will undergo a review process to evaluate originality, clarity, methodology, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

6. Ethical Requirements

All authors are required to sign a Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement after approving the final version of the manuscript and before publication. This document affirms compliance with the journal’s ethical standards and confirms that the submission is original and free of conflicts of interest.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors who publish their articles in the ASEAN Journal of Sport for Development and Peace (AJSDP) agree to the following terms:

  1. Copyright of the published articles remains with the author. However, by submitting and publishing their work in AJSDP, authors grant the journal the right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license. This license permits others to share, use, and adapt the work for any purpose, including commercial use, with proper acknowledgment of the authorship and initial publication in this journal.
  2. Authors are allowed to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the published version of the article (e.g., posting to institutional repositories, personal websites, or inclusion in a book), with acknowledgment of its initial publication in AJSDP.
  3. Authors are also encouraged to post their work online (e.g., on institutional repositories or personal websites) before and during the submission process, as this can lead to productive scholarly exchange, as well as earlier and greater citation of published work.
