THE EFFECTS OF SERVICE LEARNING MODEL TO INCREASE STUDENT’S CIVIC DISPOSITION FOR V GRADE STUDENTS IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Abstract


ABSTRACT

This research was based on civic disposition form with public and private characters indicator on students in V grade elementary school. Model that will be used in this research is service learning model as the focus in civic disposition form that will be used in experiment class. In addition, consideration model that will be used as comparison model in civic disposition form that applied in control class. So that, this research will involving two different school. The research's goals is to know the effect between service learning model and civic disposition. A lack of student's character in Civic Education class that also lead a lack of active participation in students and minimum of meaning every time Civic Education class was held were problems that become the main reason on this research.  The methodology used are quasi experiment type pre-test and post-test group. The post test result was test by regression by comparing the calculation of t and t table. The calculation of t is 4.191 which is higher than on t table, 2,04227. It is obvious that the use of service learning model has influencing civic disposition form.

 ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini didasarkan pada pembentukan civic disposition dengan indikator karakter publik dan karakter privat pada siswa kelas V (lima) Sekolah Dasar. Penggunaan model yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model service learning sebagai fokus dalam pembentukan civic disposition yang akan digunakan pada kelas eksperimen, adapun model konsiderasi digunakan sebagai model pembanding dalam pembentukan civic disposition yang akan digunakan pada kelas kontrol, sehingga dalam penelitian ini akan melibatkan dua sekolah yang berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh antara penggunaan model service learning terhadap pembentukan civic disposition. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya pembentukan karakter dalam pembelajaran PKn, sehingga siswa kurang mampu berpatisipasi aktif dalam pembelajaran dan kurang terjadi pembelajaran yang bermakna dalam setiap pembelajaran PKN dilaksanakan. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen tipe  pre-test and post-test group. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh hasil rata-rata pretest dan posttest kelas eksperimen 65.4 dan 74.5. Dari hasil posttest ini, akan digunakan uji regresi dengan membandingkan nilai t hitung dan t tabel. Hasil t hitung 4,191 memiliki nilai yang lebih besar dibandingkan nilai t tabel 2,04227, dengan hasil tersebu dapat diketahui bahwa penggunaan model service learning memiliki pengaruh terhadap pembentukan civic disposition.
