PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN WEBSITE BERBANTUAN CHATBOT AI UNTUK MATERI COMPUTATIONAL THINKING
Abstract
The development of digital technology in education demands learning media that are interactive, adaptive, and capable of supporting students’ independent learning. In the context of Computational Thinking, students often face difficulties in understanding fundamental concepts such as decomposition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking due to the limited availability of effective learning media. This study aims to develop a website-based learning media integrated with an AI chatbot and an activity monitoring system to support Computational Thinking learning for eighth-grade students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4-D model, which includes the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The research subjects consisted of material experts, media experts, system experts, and students. Instruments used in this study included expert validation questionnaires and student response questionnaires using a Likert scale. The results indicate that the developed learning media fall into the “highly feasible” category based on evaluations from material, media, and system experts. Students also rated the media as “highly feasible” due to its usability, responsiveness, and accessibility across digital devices. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of an AI chatbot as a conversational learning agent that provides direct learning assistance through text-based interactions, along with an activity monitoring feature that enables teachers to track students’ learning processes in real time. The findings imply that this media
has the potential to enhance students’ learning autonomy, support students in learning Computational Thinking concepts, and enrich AI-based learning interactions in schools. Therefore, the AI- assisted website learning media is deemed highly feasible for use in Computational Thinking instruction. Future research is recommended to examine the effectiveness of the media in improving students’ Computational Thinking skills.
Perkembangan teknologi digital dalam pembelajaran menuntut media pembelajaran yang interaktif, adaptif, dan mampu mendukung proses belajar mandiri siswa. Pada pembelajaran Computational Thinking, siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep-konsep dasar seperti decomposition, abstraction, dan algorithmic thinking karena keterbatasan media pembelajaran yang tersedia. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis website berbantuan chatbot AI dan sistem monitoring aktivitas untuk mendukung pembelajaran Computational Thinking kelas VIII. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4-D yang meliputi tahap define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari ahli materi, ahli media, ahli sistem dan siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan mencakup angket validasi ahli dan angket respon siswa dengan skala Likert. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan berada pada kategori “sangat layak” berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi, ahli media, dan ahli sistem. Media juga dinyatakan “sangat layak” oleh siswa karena mudah digunakan, responsif, serta dapat diakses melalui perangkat digital. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada berbantuan chatbot AI sebagai conversational learning agent yang memberikan bantuan belajar langsung melalui interaksi berbasis teks, serta fitur monitoring aktivitas siswa yang memungkinkan guru melakukan penelusuran proses belajar secara real-time. Implikasi penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media ini berpotensi meningkatkan kemandirian belajar, mempermudah pemahaman konsep Computational Thinking, dan memperkaya interaksi pembelajaran berbasis AI di sekolah. Dengan demikian, media pembelajaran website berbantuan chatbot AI dinyatakan sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran Computational Thinking. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan untuk menguji efektivitas media terhadap peningkatan kemampuan Computational Thinking.
