PENGEMBANGAN BUKU PANDUAN PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE BERBASIS BEST PRACTICE PADA MESIN BUBUT DI LABORATORIUM PENDIDIKAN TEKNIK MESIN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA

Abstract


The maintenance of lathes in the educational laboratory plays a crucial role in supporting the effectiveness of student practical learning. This research aims to develop a preventive maintenance guidebook based on best practices for lathes in the Mechanical Engineering Education Laboratory of Sriwijaya University. The method used is the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The research instruments include expert validation questionnaires for content and media, as well as trial questionnaires for 43 students. The validation results show a validity level of 90% by content experts and 87% by media experts, both of which fall into the very valid category. Meanwhile, the trial results show 91%, indicating that this guidebook is considered very practical in enhancing students' understanding of lathe maintenance. Thus, this guidebook is expected to serve as an integrated learning medium in technical practices, as well as to encourage the establishment of a preventive maintenance culture in the educational laboratory environment.

 

Perawatan mesin bubut di laboratorium pendidikan memegang peranan penting dalam mendukung efektivitas pembelajaran praktik mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku panduan preventive maintenance berbasis best practice pada mesin bubut di Laboratorium Pendidikan Teknik Mesin Universitas Sriwijaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Instrumen penelitian meliputi angket validasi ahli materi dan media, serta angket uji coba kepada 43 mahasiswa. Hasil validasi menunjukkan tingkat kevalidan sebesar 90% oleh ahli materi dan 87% oleh ahli media, yang keduanya termasuk dalam kategori sangat valid. Sementara itu, hasil uji coba sebesar 91% yang menunjukkan bahwa buku panduan ini dinilai sangat praktis dalam meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap perawatan mesin bubut. Dengan demikian, buku panduan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi media pembelajaran yang terintegrasi dalam praktik teknik, serta mendorong terbentuknya budaya preventive maintenance di lingkungan laboratorium pendidikan.
