MUNAFIK EKOLOGIS DAN ANCAMAN BENCANA HIDROMETEOROLOGI DI INDONESIA: DAKWAH EKOLOGIS REFLEKTIF ATAS KRISIS MORAL, PEMBANGUNAN, DAN LINGKUNGAN
Abstract
Indonesia is increasingly exposed to hydrometeorological disasters such as floods, landslides, prolonged droughts, and extreme weather events. These disasters occur paradoxically amid the growing prominence of environmental discourse in public policy, religious sermons, and development narratives. This article argues that such contradiction reflects a condition of ecological hypocrisy, conceptualized here as ecological munafik: a moral dissonance between publicly proclaimed environmental responsibility and materially destructive practices. Employing a qualitative literature-based approach, this study integrates environmental sociology, political ecology, and Islamic ecological theology to analyze hydrometeorological disasters not merely as natural events, but as manifestations of ethical failure. Through a reflective ecological da‘wah framework, the article demonstrates that disasters emerge from the erosion of ecological trust (amanah), the normalization of environmental destruction (fasād), and the weakening of human moral agency as khalīfah. This study contributes to interdisciplinary environmental studies by reframing disaster mitigation as a moral–spiritual project alongside technical and policy-based interventions.
