EDITORIAL POLICY

Aim and scope

Indonesian Journal of Arts Education Research (IJAER) is a multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal that focuses on arts education research results including performing arts education (music, dance, theater), fine arts education, film & television, and Visual Arts. The scope of the study includes:

1)      arts education models;

2)      art teaching and learning materials;

3)      arts education media and technology;

4)      art learning strategies and methods;

5)      evaluation of arts learning and education;

6)      arts education values;

7)      arts education in society;

8)      arts education in virtual spaces;

9)      Arts education and humanistic arts;

10)  Ethnopedagogy of Indonesian arts

 

The authors are academics and researchers, namely students, lecturers and scholars from Indonesia and abroad. This journal is published twice a year in May and November electronically by the Arts Education Study Program at the Postgraduate School of the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) in collaboration with Assosiasi Pendidik Seni Indonesia (APSI) or the Association of Indonesian Arts Educators.

 

Guideline for Authors

  1. Manuscripts are the result of research that has not been published in other journals;
  2. The manuscript is typed using the Microsoft Word program (not in PDF format), written in Cilibri (12 fonts) and paragraphs (1) spaced.
    1. Manuscripts are prepared in English or Indonesian. However, the Abstract is made in two languages: English and Indonesian (9 points)
    2. The minimum length of the publication manuscript is 4000 words and a maximum of 6000 words, including attachments, tables and figures.
    3. Each table and figure is given a sequential number, title, and source of quotation.
    4. Writing quotations and reference literature using APA Style 7th and recommended using Mendeley.

    6. Contents of the manuscript:
  • The title of the manuscript must be a maximum of 14 words written in English.
  • The author's name is written without title, affiliation (Study Program, Faculty/School, University), e-mail address of the first author or corresponding author.
  • Abstracts are written between 100-200 words with 3-5 keywords, written in English and Indonesian. The abstract is arranged in one paragraph. The content includes background, purpose of writing, methods, research results, and implications.
  • The contents of the manuscript and systematics as well as the percentage of the number of pages are as follows.
  1. Introduction includes background, problem formulation, purpose of writing (15%)
  2. Literature review containing theories or concepts as well as previous research (15%)
  3. The method contains research design, research objects and participants, research location and time, data collection techniques and data analysis techniques (10%)
  4. Results and Discussion present research results that answer the problem formulation, and discussion/analysis (50%).
  5. Conclusions and recommendations (10%).
  6. Acknowledgment for research articles if the research is sponsored by certain parties.
  7. The bibliography lists a minimum of 15 references.

 

Copyright Policy

 

The author grants copyright to the journal. This means that the journal is responsible for the articles submitted by the author. Journals are allowed to select and license certain rights to authors. A copyright transfer form has been provided by IJAER.

 

Plagiarism checker

The editorial board determines that all manuscripts submitted to IJAER must be free from plagiarism. All manuscripts will be checked for authenticity and similarity percentage before the review process is carried out. Manuscripts with content similarity percentages below or equivalent to 20% will be forwarded for processing by reviewers, while manuscripts with content similarity percentages above 20% will be returned to the author. The IJAER journal editor checks the plagiarism detection of articles in this journal using Turnitin software.

 

Publication ethics and malpractice statement

IJAER is a journal with articles that have received leading peer-review from reliable information sources. IJAER publishes research articles with interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary studies in arts education and related topics, which have never been published in other publications, in any language, nor are they undergoing peer review for publication in any journal. This ethical behavior limits all parties involved in writing IJAER journal articles. This assertion is based on COPE guidelines for journal article editors.
