Improving Environmental Awareness: A Study of Integration in IPAS Education at SD Alam Lampung

Abstract


Learning activities designed to foster environmental awareness among elementary school students remain considerably limited. This study aims to improve students' environmental awareness through the integration of environmental education in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning at SD Alam Lampung with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the application of PjBL in IPAS learning can improve students' understanding, attitudes, and actions towards environmental issues. Students not only gain theoretical knowledge, but are also involved in environmental projects that encourage them to play an active role in maintaining the sustainability of nature. PjBL has been proven effective in fostering pro-environmental attitudes, which is very important in forming a generation that cares about the environment. This study contributes to the development of a project-based learning approach that can improve students' awareness and responsibility towards the environment.
