ANALYSIS OF THE PROPELLER SHAFT WORKING SYSTEM ON THE KF 40 TYPE CAR TRAINING STAND UNIT

Hanriansyah Fathoni

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the torque moment, center of gravity, and propeller shaft run out of the KF 40 type car training stand unit, as well as discussing the inspection, maintenance, and repair of components. The methods used in this study are collecting unit specification data, calculating the torque moment based on engine power (87 hp at 4600 rpm), calculating the center of gravity based on component mass, and measuring the propeller shaft run out using a dial indicator. The analysis results show a torque moment of 107.8 N.m, the Center of Gravity is on the axis 782.6 mm from the left end of the sleeve yoke, and the propeller shaft wobble is 2.58 mm at the bottom, exceeding the maximum standard of 0.8 mm. The importance of regular maintenance to maintain vehicle performance and safety, considering that damage to the propeller shaft can be fatal.
