THE ROLE OF YOUTUBE AS A SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM IN ENHANCING ENGLISH AND MATHEMATICS SKILLS AMONG STUDENTS AT PAMULANG UNIVERSITY
Abstract
This study aims to explore the role of YouTube as a social media platform in enhancing English and mathematics skills among Accounting students at Pamulang University. The type of research is quantitative with a survey approach. The subjects of the research are Accounting students, while the object of the research is the use of YouTube as a learning aid. The population of the study includes all Accounting students at Pamulang University, with a randomly selected sample of 100 students. Data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires distributed to the respondents, while data analysis was performed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The results of the study show that the use of YouTube significantly improves students' understanding and skills in English and mathematics. Students reported that interactive and easily accessible educational videos increased their motivation to learn and their understanding of the material. These findings indicate that YouTube can be an effective learning tool to support the educational process in higher education, particularly in enhancing students' language and numerical skills.
