Exploration of Scout Camps in Increasing Interest in Nature among Elementary School Students

Abstract


This study aims to determine how Scout camp activities can increase students' interest in nature. Scout activities are practical because they involve direct experience in nature, cooperation, and character learning. The research was conducted qualitatively with a case study approach, using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. The research subjects included 4th, fifth, and 6th-grade students, teachers, and scout leaders at SD Negeri Karyajati. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the scout camp increased students' interest in nature, as seen from students' enthusiasm during nature exploration, environmental awareness, and a better understanding of nature. This activity can be a practical learning strategy to foster environmental concern early on.
