OVERVIEW OF GRATITUDE IN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the profile of gratitude among high school

students. This research employed a quantitative approach using a descriptive method. The

population consisted of 216 students, all of whom were included as participants through a

saturated sampling technique. The instrument used was a gratitude scale that had undergone

validity and reliability testing. The findings revealed that students’ gratitude levels were

generally in the moderate category. A total of 35 students (16%) were classified as low, 145

students (67%) as moderate, and 36 students (17%) as high. These results indicate that most

students possess a moderate level of gratitude, although further development is needed through

consistent practice and positive psychology-based interventions. Overall, this study provides a

comprehensive overview of gratitude among high school students and serves as a foundation

for designing personal-social guidance programs in schools.
