Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the condition of workshop facilities, analyze the influence of these facilities on user satisfaction levels, and identify development needs based on a stakeholder needs analysis within the context of the Light Vehicle Powertrain System (SPTKR) at SMK Negeri 1 Katapang. A mixed-method approach with a concurrent triangulation design was employed, meaning that data were collected simultaneously through surveys (questionnaires), open-ended interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs), as well as direct observations in the workshop area. The findings show that the overall condition of the workshop facilities is categorized as good; however, in terms of availability, the facilities have not fully met the practical learning needs for SPTKR. This situation demonstrates a strong relationship between facility conditions and user satisfaction, further reinforced by qualitative insights from students, teachers, and the head of the program, who all highlight a clear gap between the actual condition and the ideal expectations. The needs analysis also reveals several development priorities, including the renewal of practical equipment, more effective spatial organization, and the strengthening of facility management practices. These findings serve as the foundation for designing a facility development model presented in the form of an e-book. The model is intended to guide schools in planning targeted improvements to workshop facilities that are relevant to industry demands and oriented toward enhancing the effectiveness of vocational learning This development model is expected to be a useful reference for vocational education institutions, particularly SMK Negeri 1 Katapang.
