Analisis Peran Guru dalam Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Siswa Kelas Rendah di SDN Lialang

Abstract


The success of learning cannot be separated from the teacher, as the teacher plays the most important role. One of the determinants of success is student learning motivation. The purpose of this study was to determine the learning activities of students at SDN Lialang and to investigate the teacher's efforts in fostering the learning motivation of low-grade students. The research approach employed is a descriptive research method. The research was conducted at SDN Lialang, Serang. Data collection techniques using the results of interviews, observations, questionnaires and documentation. The validity of the data in this study was established through the use of triangulation techniques. Data were analysed by reducing irrelevant information, presenting the data, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that: (1) To find out the low grade learning activities, it is indicated by the learning activities of students who follow all directions of the teacher (2) To find out the efforts made by the teacher in fostering low learning motivation: a) the teacher as a demonstrator: using various methods, using easily accessible language, b) teacher as class manager: paying attention to student concentration, arranging seats, c) teacher as mediator: providing learning media d) teacher as facilitator: providing learning facilities, d) teacher as evaluator: providing evaluation in the form of questions, daily tests and learning games, e) teacher as a motivator: giving encouragement, gifts, grades, praise and punishment. Teachers' efforts to foster learning motivation encompass several important roles: as demonstrators, classroom managers, mediators, facilitators, evaluators, and motivators. Overall, teachers have successfully carried out these roles, although there are still some obstacles, such as the natural characteristics of children and their family environment.
