Pengembangan Media Big Book berbasis Kearifan Lokal Baduy untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Membaca Peserta Didik Kelas VI A

Abstract


The objective of this developmental research is to investigate the feasibility and effectiveness of Big Book learning media based on Baduy local wisdom in enhancing students' reading comprehension skills and to assess students' responses to this learning medium. This study employed the R&D (Research and Development) research method, utilizing the ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation) development model. The study was conducted in class VI A of SDN Serang 21 from January to September 2024. Data collection in this study used observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The results of this study showed that the Big Book learning media was feasible for use in the learning process, with a feasibility percentage of 88.36% in the 'Very Feasible' category. The use of Big Book learning media based on Baduy local wisdom has been proven to improve the reading comprehension skills of students, with the average pretest score of 37.39 (Needs Guidance) increasing to an average posttest score of 87.82 (Very Good). The use of Big Book learning media can improve reading skills, help students find a learning style that suits their needs, and broaden their knowledge of Baduy culture. It can be seen from the responses of students, which show that the 'Big Book based on Baduy local wisdom' learning media provides experience in training the values of activeness, cooperation, responsibility, interaction between students, and communication between teachers and students. The development of this combination of media and culture can continue to be integrated as an effective alternative for meaningful learning in the future.
