Pengaruh Model Kooperatif Tipe TGT terhadap Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematika Bangun Datar Siswa Kelas IV SDN 1 Metro Utara

Abstract


The underlying issue addressed in this study is the low mathematical problem-solving ability among elementary school students. This study aimed to investigate the effect of the Teams Game Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model on the mathematical problem-solving skills of fourth-grade elementary school students. The study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The population consisted of 76 students, with a sample of 51 students selected using purposive sampling. Data was collected through problem-solving ability tests and student learning activity observation sheets. The hypothesis test, conducted using simple linear regression, showed a significance value of 0.01, which is less than 0.05. This result led to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). The findings indicate that the Teams Game Tournament cooperative learning model has a significant positive influence on the problem-solving abilities of fourth-grade students. It suggests that the Teams Game Tournament cooperative learning model can be an effective alternative for educators to enhance students' problem-solving skills and classroom participation. The model's framework, which includes group work, games, and competition, was found to actively engage students and improve their ability to understand, plan, execute, and review solutions to problems.
