Dampak Kepemimpinan Ambidextrous terhadap Perilaku Kerja Inovatif di BUMN Jasa Migas
Abstract
The oil and gas services industry faces major challenges due to energy price fluctuations, geopolitical uncertainty, and regulatory pressure for efficiency and sustainability. State-owned oil and gas companies are required to remain competitive by enhancing innovation, yet an operational culture focused on efficiency often limits employees' innovative work behavior (IWB). Ambidextrous leadership, which combines open behavior (idea exploration) and closed behavior (idea exploitation), is seen as a solution to support innovation without sacrificing efficiency. This study aims to analyze the influence of ambidextrous leadership on the innovative work behavior of employees in state-owned oil and gas service companies. The method used is a quantitative-explanatory approach with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis using SmartPLS. Data was collected through a questionnaire completed by 150 permanent employees using purposive sampling. The results indicate that ambidextrous leadership has a positive and significant effect on all dimensions of innovative work behavior, particularly in Idea Generation and Idea Championing, although the impact on idea implementation remains limited. Therefore, companies need to strengthen their ambidextrous leadership strategies and create a more supportive work environment for innovation implementation to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving oil and gas industry
