Abstract

This study examines the effect of pedagogical competence and self-efficacy on students' learning interest in vocational education. The research was conducted among Grade X Office Management and Business Services students at SMKN 1 Bandung. Using a quantitative explanatory design, data were collected from 106 students selected from a population of 144 through probability sampling. A Likert-scale questionnaire was analyzed using descriptive statistics, assumption testing, and multiple regression. The results show that pedagogical competence, self-efficacy, and learning interest are all in the high category. Pedagogical competence significantly affects learning interest, contributing 29.0%, while self-efficacy contributes 33.7%. Simultaneously, both predictors explain 62.7% of students' learning interest. The findings indicate that learning interest can be improved by strengthening teacher pedagogical practices and students' confidence in learning
