Abstract

This study aims to analyze the multidimensional relationship between job satisfaction and teacher performance in Indonesian vocational education by integrating Self-Determination Theory with a collectivist cultural perspective. Using a quantitative approach with a survey of 40 teachers at an A-accredited vocational high school in Bandung, the study measured job satisfaction through five dimensions and teacher performance through five aspects of professional competence. Data analysis employed Spearman correlation to examine relationships between variables. Spearman correlation analysis revealed a significant but weak positive relationship (rs = 0.360, p = 0.022) with job satisfaction explaining 12.96% of performance variance. Dimensional analysis showed supervision had the strongest correlation (rs = 0.394) while salary was not significant (rs = 0.198). Findings indicate the dominance of intrinsic motivation and collectivist cultural factors in determining teacher performance, providing theoretical contributions for cultural adaptation of theories in educational organizational behavior.
