PENGARUH EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE TERHADAP CONFLICT MANAGEMENT DENGAN OCCUPATIONAL STRESS SEBAGAI VARIABEL MEDIASI PADA PEGAWAI KANTOR IMIGRASI KELAS I TPI PADANG

Abstract


Beragamnya persoalan yang muncul di lingkungan kerja instansi pemerintahan menuntut pegawai mampu mengelola emosi dan menyelesaikan konflik secara adaptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh emotional intelligence terhadap conflict management dengan occupational stress sebagai variabel mediasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei terhadap 74 pegawai di Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I TPI Padang. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dengan skala likert dan dianalisis menggunakan metode Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa emotional intelligence berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap conflict management, serta berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap occupational stress. Temuan penting lainnya adalah bahwa emotional intelligence juga berpengaruh terhadap conflict management secara tidak langsung melalui occupational stress sebagai variabel mediasi. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya emotional intelligence sebagai kemampuan dasar dalam menghadapi tekanan kerja sekaligus membangun strategi penyelesaian konflik yang efektif. Implikasi praktis dari penelitian ini mengarah pada perlunya pelatihan pengembangan emosional untuk mendukung conflict management yang lebih konstruktif di lingkungan kerja pemerintahan.
