Efektivitas Two Stay Two Stray terhadap Hasil Belajar Kognitif Sejarah: Quasi-Experiment pada Siswa Kelas XI
Abstract
This study investigated the effectiveness of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) cooperative learning model in improving students’ cognitive learning outcomes in Indonesian History. The research was conducted with Grade XI social science students at MA Al-Ma’sum Malausma using a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group. The sample consisted of 69 students, comprising 33 students in the experimental group (XI IPS 2) and 36 students in the control group (XI IPS 1). Data were collected through pretests and posttests using 19 multiple-choice items and analyzed using tests of normality, homogeneity, an independent samples t-test, and effect size analysis. The results revealed a statistically significant improvement in the cognitive learning outcomes of students taught using the TSTS model. The experimental group’s mean posttest score (81.79) increased substantially from the pretest mean (53.12). Hypothesis testing showed a significance value of p < .003 (t = −3.058, df = 67), indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The effect size, calculated using Cohen’s d, was 0.74, representing a medium effect. These findings suggest that the Two Stay Two Stray cooperative learning model has a positive and meaningful impact on students’ cognitive achievement in Indonesian History.

Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Two Stay Two Stray terhadap hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Sejarah Indonesia. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada peserta didik kelas XI IPS di MA Al-Ma’sum Malausma dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui desain kuasi eksperimen tipe nonequivalent control group. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 69 peserta didik, terdiri atas 33 peserta didik kelas XI IPS 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 36 peserta didik kelas XI IPS 1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes awal dan tes akhir berbentuk 19 soal pilihan ganda, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji independent samples t-test, serta perhitungan ukuran efek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Two Stay Two Stray berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik. Rata-rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 81,79 meningkat secara signifikan dibandingkan rata-rata pretest sebesar 53,12. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi p < 0,003 dengan nilai t = −3,058 pada derajat kebebasan 67, sehingga hipotesis penelitian diterima. Ukuran efek yang dihitung menggunakan Cohen’s d menunjukkan nilai sebesar 0,74 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa model pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Sejarah Indonesia. .
