Sastra dan Pembelajaran Bahasa Jepang

Fajria Noviana

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the value of reading and writing literature in second language, especially in Japanese. A language-based approach, that is one of three Lazar’s methods of literature’s application in language learning, was used in this research. In small group discussion in language class, students can retell the Japanese short story in their own words, and even add their opinions about the story. Therefore, the application of literature in language learning is very effective to improve students’ ability of mastering second language.
