JPIS (Jurnal Pendidikan Ilmu Sosial) was first published by Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia in 1991. It is published two times issued on June and December. Each issue consists of about 10 articles/reviews.
In 2016, JPIS was published via online media (Open Journal System) on the page https://ejournal.upi.edu/index.php/jpis/. JPIS has also registered its publication with e-ISSN 2540-7694 in accordance with ISSN Decree Number: 0005.25407694/JI.3.1/SK.ISSN/2016.09
Since the issue of Vol 30, No 2 (2021), all articles published in the JPIS (Jurnal Pendidikan Ilmu Sosial) that the official language of the journal is English.
Since the issue of Vol 29, No 1 (2020), all articles published in JPIS (Jurnal Pendidikan Ilmu Sosial) have undergone template changes.
