Evaluation of the library management program as a learning resources with Discrepancy Model

Abstract


Monitoring and evaluation are activities that are described as activities designed to monitor implementation and learning which include program planning, program implementation, program monitoring, and program evaluation. In the research, the monitoring and evaluation activities are focused on evaluating the library management program as a learning resource at SMA Sumatra 40 Bandung. The purpose of this study was to gain knowledge and the next steps related to monitoring and evaluation activities of the middle school library management program as a learning resource using the discrepancy model. The research method used is a qualitative approach and a literature review that is processed descriptively. Based on the results of the study, it is known that several aspects evaluated at the SMA Sumatra 40 Bandung Library related to the implementation of the library management program have reached high school library standards in accordance with the regulations of the Head of the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia Number 12 of 2017 concerning National Standards for Senior High School Libraries (Peraturan Kepala Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia Nomor 12 Tahun 2017 tentang Standar Nasional Perpustakaan Sekolah Menengah Atas/Madrasah Aliyah). However, the aspect of human resources, the library has not met the standards applied. Recommendations that should be considered by the SMA Sumatra 40 Bandung Library to support the library management program as a learning resource are by adding library staff to meet the established standards. In addition, the library is deemed necessary to expand the library space and apply information and communication technology in the library so that the library management program as a learning resource can be maximized.
