Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan (JPP) follows the authorship recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Who qualifies as an author
Every person listed as an author must meet all four of the following criteria:
- a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the study, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of the data;
- drafting the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content;
- approval of the final version to be published; and
- agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work, including its accuracy and integrity.
Acquiring funding, collecting data, or general supervision of a research group alone does not justify authorship. Contributors who do not meet all four criteria should be named in the Acknowledgments section with a description of their contribution. Gift, guest, and ghost authorship are not accepted.
Corresponding author
The corresponding author handles all communication with the journal during submission, review, and publication, and makes sure that every co-author has seen and approved the final manuscript and has agreed to its submission. All author names, affiliations, e-mail addresses, and ORCID iDs (where available) must be entered completely in the submission metadata.
Changes to authorship
The list and order of authors should be final at submission. Any request to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must be sent by the corresponding author to [email protected], state the reason for the change, and include written agreement from all authors, including the author being added or removed. No changes to authorship are made after the article has been published, except through a formal correction (see Correction and Retraction).
Artificial intelligence tools
AI tools, including large language models, cannot be listed as authors because they cannot take responsibility for the work. Authors who use AI tools in preparing a manuscript must describe that use in the Method or Acknowledgments section and remain fully responsible for the content.
