Plagiarism Policy

Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan (JPP) does not tolerate plagiarism in any form. Plagiarism includes presenting another person's words, ideas, data, or figures as one's own without proper citation, copying or close paraphrasing of substantial parts of another work, and reusing one's own previously published text or data without disclosure (self-plagiarism or text recycling).

Similarity check

Every submitted manuscript is checked with Turnitin before it is sent for review. The overall similarity index must not exceed 20%, with quotations and the reference list excluded. The editor also examines the similarity report itself, so a manuscript below 20% may still be returned if a large part of the overlap comes from a single source.

Actions taken

  • Before review: a manuscript above 20%, or with substantial copying from a single source, is returned to the authors or rejected without review.
  • During review: if plagiarism is detected during review or editing, the process is stopped and the manuscript is rejected.
  • After publication: if plagiarism is found in a published article, the journal investigates following the COPE guidelines; depending on the extent, the article is corrected or retracted (see Correction and Retraction), and the authors' institutions may be informed.

Duplicate and redundant publication

Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time, or publishing essentially the same research in more than one journal, is treated as misconduct and handled under the Allegation of Research Misconduct policy.

Use of AI tools
