Abstract


This study explores the implementation of interactive games in Arabic vocabulary instruction at the elementary level, analyzing their effects on students’ vocabulary acquisition and identifying supporting factors and challenges. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research involved students from the first, second, and third grades, along with Three Arabic teachers at SD Cendekia Ambon. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. Findings indicate that games such as snakes and ladders, picture guessing, and outdoor vocabulary hunts effectively enhance students’ memory retention, word associations, and learning autonomy. Moreover, game-based activities foster social interaction and character development. Challenges include limited instructional time and students’ technical difficulties in dictionary use. The study contributes practically by offering insights for teachers to design engaging, meaningful vocabulary learning strategies and theoretically by enriching gamification-based approaches in Arabic language education at the elementary level.
