Use of direct practice as an active learning innovation

Abstract


Learning carried out in various universities tends to provide flexibility for students to be able to search and explore learning materials. The methods used vary. One of the methods applied in various universities is the presentation of material by students to students. While using the material presentation method, there are various problems that are considered ineffective in terms of the quality of material understanding, where many students feel bored during learning, as well as a learning process that is less interactive due to the lack of interaction between educators and students, resulting in a low level of understanding in students. In an effort to create an optimal learning process, a method that is not boring is needed, there is good interactivity, and can increase understanding. Therefore, the author is interested in developing research on the effectiveness of using direct practice as a learning innovation to understand the material in students. The research method used is a qualitative method, with the interview as a data collection instrument. The subject of the study was 15 students of the Business Education Study Program class of 2021. The results of the interview showed that there was an influence between the use of direct practice on understanding the material in students. Direct practice is considered as a learning method that is fun, interesting and makes it easier to deliver material, so this method is very effective in increasing understanding in students.
